Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or a related quantitative field. - Over 5 years of hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: penetration testing, red teaming, software reverse engineering, malware analysis, exploit development, system security engineering, or secure system design. - Ability to deeply investigate complex technical issues while maintaining focus on broader mission objectives and limitations. - Experience in quickly adapting to new systems, stakeholders, and mission requirements, utilizing structured inquiry and innovative thinking to define next steps proactively. - Proficient in crafting technical documentation and effectively presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - Capable of obtaining an Interim Secret security clearance by the starting date and able to achieve a Top Secret clearance in time. Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship. - Willingness to travel up to 25% to government, contractor, or other agency locations.

Responsibilities

- Develop a comprehensive understanding of mission goals, system architecture, component functionality, and operational contexts through collaborative document review and engagement with subject matter experts. - Evaluate active systems by: - Conducting hands-on cybersecurity evaluations involving vulnerability research, direct testing, configuration analysis, and penetration testing of hardware, software, and networks. - Playing a role in drafting and implementing test plans, gathering data, and analyzing assessment findings. - Clearly documenting technical results to effectively communicate with external stakeholders. - Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to interpret technical vulnerabilities, system assessments, and prioritize remedies or compensatory engineering tasks in accordance with mission priorities and operational constraints. - Contribute to early-stage design and development efforts by: - Partnering closely with external organizations tasked with system development to gain a clear understanding of the system, its mission context, and ensure early inclusion of security and resilience considerations. - Employing technical diplomacy to facilitate the exchange of ideas across various technical, operational, and organizational spheres.
