Requirements
Must:
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- I have a Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another related discipline.
- I have at least two years of experience working with AFSIM to conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- I possess experience conducting statistical analysis to identify trends and draw conclusions.
- I am highly skilled in learning new and challenging topics.
- I am able to effectively work in a highly collaborative environment and communicate complex ideas to a variety of partners.
- I am proficient to fluent in a programming or scripting language such as MATLAB or Python.
- I can obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by my start date and ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, I will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information, including U.S. citizenship.
I will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if I:
- Have a Master's degree or PhD in a technical or scientific field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another related discipline.
- Have knowledge in Air or Surface Warfare domains.
- Have an active Top Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
As an AFSIM Analyst, my primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing models and performing analysis on sensor, tracker, communication, and weapon systems for mission-level simulations using AFSIM, with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making.
- Conducting statistical analysis to find trends, assess risk, and document uncertainties in simulation results.
- Collaborating with the software development team on improving custom tools, which includes designing efficient data representations for large datasets, testing accurate interactions across interdependent algorithms, and automating production analysis pipelines.
- Working with a small team, including junior analysts who will benefit from my experience, and senior engineers to guide the direction of projects.
- Engaging in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and reward initiative.
- Presenting my work through briefings to both technical specialists and pivotal decision makers.
