Requirements
Must:
- Strong, hands-on experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira (regular day-to-day use)
- Proven ability to structure and maintain Confluence spaces
- Skill in translating Jira activity into comprehensible documentation
- Excellent written communication and organizational skills
- Experience working independently in remote settings
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets)
- Background in technical writing, documentation management, or knowledge management
- Experience supporting engineering, operations, compliance, or regulated teams
- Familiarity with extensive or complex documentation environments
Responsibilities
- Create, organize, and sustain well-structured Confluence spaces
- Design and establish page hierarchy and navigation systems
- Develop templates and formatting guidelines
- Implement cross-linking strategies for enhanced discoverability
- Transform dynamic project information into clear, well-organized documentation
- Ensure ongoing accuracy of documentation through regular updates
- Analyze Jira to understand ticket status, dependencies, risks, and blockers
- Summarize Jira activities into concise updates or reference materials
- Publish summaries in Confluence, Jira, or suitable lightweight formats
- Collaborate asynchronously with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders for context clarification
- Identify and proactively address gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated documentation
- Operate autonomously with minimal supervision
Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team remotely in the Bay Area. This part-time role entails approximately 16-24 hours per week, focusing on the creation, editing, and maintenance of high-quality documentation that supports technical processes and projects using Jira and Confluence. We aim to enhance clarity, organization, and usability in our project documentation, ensuring that it is accessible and easily understood across the organization.
