Requirements
Must:
- BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area
- Minimum of 10 years in software engineering or related fields
- In-depth knowledge of database internals and distributed systems
- Familiarity with replication technologies and load balancing algorithms
- Expert-level skills in C programming
- Proficient in SQL; knowledge of PL/SQL is advantageous
- Strong foundation in relational database principles and operating system concepts
- Understanding of concurrent programming concepts
- Proven software engineering and debugging capabilities
- History of delivering high-quality software within tight deadlines
- Excellent teamwork skills, especially within distributed teams
Responsibilities
- Actively define and advance standard practices and procedures within the software engineering division
- Develop software solutions associated with the design, creation, and debugging of applications or operating systems
- Engage in complex, non-routine work applying advanced technical and business skills
- Provide leadership and mentoring to fellow team members
- Solve challenging problems related to distributed computing, high availability, and scalability
- Contribute to strategic projects that have a significant impact on the teams objectives

We are a dedicated team working on a globally distributed, elastic, cloud-native relational database that merges the strengths of NoSQL and NewSQL technologies with the robust capabilities of Oracle RDBMS. Our projects cover all aspects of the database kernel, including parallel query execution and transaction management, as well as client-side components such as intelligent query routers and load balancers. We support emerging technologies in the realm of distributed databases, including vector and text search, microservices, machine learning, blockchain, and graphs.
