Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in electronic security systems design/engineering
- Comprehensive understanding of best practices in security system design and product use, including:
- Video surveillance technologies (Analog, IP, Codecs, VMS)
- Access control systems (card access, biometrics, PIV, FIPS-201, HSPD-12, various processor panels, electric locking hardware, etc.)
- Physical intrusion detection technologies (Bosch, DMP, etc.)
- Architectures for Software House, Lenel, Amag, Brivo, Genetec, and Avigilon systems
- Proficiency in computer software such as AutoCAD and related rendering tools, MS Office, Acrobat Writer, and Visio
- Capability to interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of AC and DC circuitry, voltage drop calculations, and wire sizing
- Collaborative approach when working with diverse technical teams
- Ability to manage multiple large and intricate projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
- Self-driven with the capacity to influence team members
Responsibilities
- Develops and refines comprehensive post-sale engineering packages that detail device placements, room layouts, designs, and network setups
- Creates and updates specifications based on product and performance criteria
- Prepares pre-fabrication submittal packages for architect and engineer approval before installation
- Maintains accurate as-built documentation throughout project lifecycles and subsequent modifications
- Utilizes and enhances a library of standard engineering documents and templates, including customer-specific submissions
- Ensures cost efficiency through effective value engineering while maintaining technical compliance
- Reviews proposals pre-sale and post-sale to ensure product relevance and adherence to specifications
- Collaborates with producers to verify the functionality of selected products
- Maintains adherence to internal installation standards
- Contributes to the development of guidelines for Solutions Engineering and post-sale projects
