Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 8 years of practical experience in network engineering within large, intricate environments.
- Extensive familiarity with routing and switching technologies (e.g., Cisco, TCP/IP, VLANs, WANs).
- At least 5 years in a senior or lead network capacity, managing and executing complex projects.
- In-depth understanding of routing protocols including EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, and BGP.
- Proven experience with firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, and enterprise wireless/Wi-Fi systems.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, or similar).
- Strong capability to produce documentation, including network diagrams (e.g., using Visio) and technical runbooks.
- Willingness to engage in 24/7 on-call rotations and work during after-hours or weekends as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced support for network incidents and requests through phone, remote access, and on-site assistance.
- Design, plan, and execute new network installations, upgrades, and capacity enhancements.
- Develop and sustain documentation for network setup, configurations, and new implementations.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and troubleshooting for routing, switching, security, and wireless components.
- Work collaboratively with approved vendors and internal teams to address network-related challenges.
- Carry out capacity planning and performance evaluations to secure adequate throughput and dependability.
- Uphold adherence to organizational security protocols and assist in audit and remediation initiatives (including PCI/PII considerations).
- Travel to various locations to install, maintain, and upgrade networking hardware.
- Provide technical leadership, direction, and mentorship to fellow team members.
- Promote ongoing enhancement of network monitoring, management, and operational processes.
