Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience with PI System Management Tools (SMT)
- Hands-on proficiency in Point Builder and PI Builder for Excel for bulk tag creation
- Ability to configure tag attributes such as Point Source, Data Type (e.g., float32), Engineering Units (EngUnits), Exception Deviation & Compression
- Solid understanding of OPC, Modbus, MQTT, or proprietary data interfaces
- Knowledge of PI Tag-level security (Point Security vs. Data Security)
- Comfortable working onsite in an active production environment
- 3 to 5 years of PI System Management experience in a large industrial manufacturing setting preferred
- Experience supporting petrochemical or heavy industrial production is a plus
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is an advantage
- College degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Data Science, Engineering, Automation, or a related field is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Create and configure PI Tags for sensor data including temperature, pressure, and flow
- Utilize PI System Management Tools (SMT) to troubleshoot tag issues and confirm configurations
- Optimize Exception and Compression settings to maintain clean and accurate data without increasing database size
- Integrate PI Tags with Asset Framework (AF) to provide structure and context to raw data
- Develop dashboards, trends, alerts, and reports to facilitate real-time production decision-making
- Collaborate with production operations and fellow developers during the system startup phase
Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated PI System Developer to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky, for a contract role lasting 5 to 6 months with the potential for extension. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence a live production environment by successfully launching a new boiler system. With a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 per year based on experience, you will be part of a focused team committed to optimizing PI data across our production systems, fostering smarter operational decisions and enhancing overall success.
