Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server clusters
- At least 4 years of experience implementing and supporting SQL Always On (2016/2019)
- Proficient in using RedGate SQL Monitoring tools, Ola Hallengren maintenance scripts, and Brent Ozar SQL optimization tools
- Demonstrated experience in Azure SQL Database administration
- Strong skills in SQL query tuning, performance enhancement, and database troubleshooting
- Familiarity with ETL tools, BI systems, and data warehousing (preferably Redshift)
- Ability to analyze and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
- Comprehensive understanding of database security, encryption, access models, and backup/recovery strategies
- A Bachelors degree is preferred, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of all Microsoft SQL databases and their related architecture
- Monitor, optimize, and secure both on-premise SQL Server environments and SQL Service platforms like AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database
- Design, test, install, and enhance database systems to meet performance standards
- Perform regular database tuning and troubleshooting to ensure optimal operation
- Implement maintenance scripts and utilize SQL optimization tools as necessary
- Support and manage SQL Always On configurations for high availability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to convert business needs into technical implementations
- Maintain a strong focus on database security and backup/recovery processes
