Requirements
Must:
- Over 3 years of hands-on experience with IBM i / iSeries / IBM Power Systems
- In-depth knowledge of system administration, security configuration, PTF management, and job scheduling
- Proficient in backup and recovery processes, BRMS, disaster recovery replication, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with operational tools and third-party applications used in IBM i ecosystems
- Ability to operate independently, manage critical systems, and work collaboratively with IT teams
- Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on reliability and operational excellence
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain IBM i / IBM Power Systems in production, development, and disaster recovery settings
- Oversee daily system operations, including workload management, job scheduling, system health monitoring, and security administration
- Handle BRMS backup processes, disaster recovery replication, and conduct periodic recovery tests
- Perform system optimization, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Support and maintain various third-party applications integrated with the IBM i environment (e.g., Avalara, Seagull, Aldon, Halcyon, among others)
- Collaborate with internal teams to uphold system stability, data integrity, and operational resilience
- Engage in documentation, knowledge transfer, and cross-training initiatives as part of the transition plan
- Assist with broader IT operations as required, especially in Windows Server, virtualization, or general infrastructure tasks (preferred)

We are looking for a skilled IBM Power Systems Administrator to take charge of our customers IBM i environment, encompassing production, development, and disaster recovery systems. This critical role is essential for maintaining ongoing operations, enhancing system reliability and security, and driving future modernization efforts. This position serves as a backfill for a retiring administrator and provides extensive cross-training opportunities along with long-term stability in a supportive team environment.
