- Experience in IBM access method environments
- Understanding of z/OS control block structures
- Familiar with basic and supervisory macros
- Knowledge of mainframe security systems like RACF and ACF2
- Experience with software installations on z/OS
- Understanding of reentrant vs non-reentrant code
- Familiarity with SVC structure and IBM user exits
- Capable of independent work within a remote team and effective collaboration with engineers
- Self-motivated in a fast-paced team atmosphere
- (Nice to have) Experience with z/OS REXX
- General knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and multi-threading
- Understanding of QSAM/BSAM and Record Level Sharing (RLS)
- Comprehension of control block structures of VSAM and QSAM
- Knowledge of non-application storage subpools
- Working experience with COBOL and assembler application programming
- Awareness of VSAM buffer structure
- Familiarity with 64-bit storage and tape catalog management
- Experience troubleshooting in high-pressure client meetings
- Comfort in pre-sales situations and technical presentations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
- Demonstrates an eagerness to learn
Responsibilities
- Engage in software design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance tasks
- Contribute to the creation of design documents, unit tests, and QA test plans
- Update documentation for new features, enhancements, and fixes
- Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders throughout development stages
- Build product distribution packages and assist clients with installations
- Aid the technical support team in diagnosing customer issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups to troubleshoot customer problems and support pre-sales initiatives
- Adhere to organizational quality standards and procedures
Description
