Requirements
Must:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar and good standing
- At least 5 years of experience in civil litigation
- Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse caseload
- Excellent legal research and writing capabilities
- Strong skills in negotiation and advocacy
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software
Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of civil litigation from initiation to trial, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing pre-trial motions and briefs
- Represent clients in court, mediations, and arbitrations
- Offer legal counsel to clients, advising on litigation risks and strategic options
- Conduct legal research and analysis to aid in case preparation and strategy formulation
- Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and paralegals to ensure efficient case management
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal literature
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing regular updates and meeting their needs
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate
