Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment
- Fundamental understanding of statistical analysis
- Basic knowledge of Vision Systems and Surface Monitoring Systems
- Demonstrated skill in industrial controls and programming (PLCs, C++, Python, Java, etc)
Responsibilities
- Provide support and leadership to the rolling manufacturing and process areas
- Lead process improvement initiatives on rolling mills to enhance equipment operation and product recovery
- Support product development by evaluating and modifying rolling models/processes for new products
- Oversee operations and maintenance of Vision Systems, Measuring Systems, and Surface Quality Monitoring Systems
- Guide the installation and commissioning of new systems
- Conduct failure analysis, lead problem-solving teams, and identify root causes and solutions
- Offer advanced technical guidance to ensure understanding of equipment impact on utilization and product quality
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to meet process improvement requirements
- Be adaptable to work off-shift hours and/or weekends as necessary to support operations
