Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related area
- Over 5 years of experience in embedded software design and development
- Proficient in C/C++, Python, and Linux-based development environments
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux, covering kernel, u-boot, and driver-level tasks
- Familiarity with Yocto or other embedded Linux build systems
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with wireless communication systems (BLE, Wi-Fi, RF) and protocol design
- Strong debugging skills, including proficiency with test automation and tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Ability to assess performance, optimize memory usage, and design for low-power implementation
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Preferred: Experience developing for edge gateways (Intel/ARM SBCs, containers, virtualization)
- Preferred: Insight into IoT systems and device-to-cloud frameworks (Azure IoT, GCP IoT Core equivalents)
- Preferred: Understanding of sensor fusion and computer vision processes for edge implementation
- Preferred: Experience with secure device management, OTA updates, and remote diagnostics
- Preferred: Familiarity with retail, industrial IoT, or safety-critical embedded systems
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain firmware across embedded Linux platforms and associated device drivers
- Create and optimize firmware applications for devices, enhancing performance, power efficiency, and reliability
- Design internal tools for data collection, testing, diagnostics, and performance validation
- Investigate reported issues, identify root causes, implement solutions, and document findings
- Participate in technical reviews of hardware, firmware, and software specifications
- Generate architecture, design, and detailed technical documentation
- Approve testing and validation methods while working closely with Software Quality Assurance teams
- Support product integration across gateways, cameras, BLE devices, edge computing, and cloud services
- Build firmware that supports modern IoT protocols such as BLE, Wi-Fi, RF, MQTT, WebSockets, and REST
- Collaborate in the integration of edge gateways, including containerized applications and device management
- Assist in developing data ingestion pipelines for cloud analytics and AI/ML systems (Azure/GCP)
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to facilitate sensor fusion, data streams, and APIs connecting edge devices to backend systems
- Contribute to the long-term modernization of the embedded software stack, focusing on Linux optimizations, secure boot, diagnostics, and telemetry
