Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in embedded software design and development
- Strong proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Linux-based development
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux, including kernel-level, u-boot, and driver-level programming
- Familiarity with Yocto or similar embedded Linux build systems
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with wireless communication systems (BLE, Wi-Fi, RF) and protocol design
- Strong debugging skills and familiarity with test automation tools and equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Proven ability to analyze performance metrics, optimize memory usage, and design for low-power architectures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain firmware across embedded Linux platforms and associated device drivers
- Build and optimize firmware applications for improved performance, power efficiency, and reliability
- Create internal tools for data collection, testing, diagnostics, and performance validation
- Investigate and troubleshoot problem reports, identifying root causes and implementing solutions
- Participate in technical reviews pertaining to hardware, firmware, and software requirements
- Create architectural designs and produce detailed technical documentation
- Approve testing and validation strategies, collaborating closely with Software Quality Assurance
- Facilitate product integration across gateways, cameras, BLE devices, edge computing, and cloud services
- Build firmware that supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, RF, and contemporary IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, WebSockets, REST)
- Integrate with edge gateways, supporting containerized applications, device management agents, and over-the-air update mechanisms
- Support data ingestion pipelines for cloud analytics and AI/ML systems on platforms such as Azure and GCP
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance sensor fusion, data streams, and APIs for connecting edge devices to backend platforms
- Contribute to the long-term modernization of the embedded stack, including Linux optimizations, secure boot, diagnostics, and telemetry initiatives
