Requirements
Must:
- In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, Azure, or OCI) alongside an understanding of multi-cloud environments.
- Proficiency in managing relational database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL or Big Data technologies (MongoDB, Snowflake, Cassandra).
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automating repetitive processes like system updates and backups.
- Experience in architecting high-availability (HA) solutions using multi-region replication and automated failover strategies.
Responsibilities
- Support on-premises SQL databases, including Enterprise Always On versions (2016, 2019, 2022) and utilize tools like SolarWinds DPA for performance analysis.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate database environment provisioning and management with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Administer hybrid data orchestration, facilitating data flow, synchronization, and replication between local environments and cloud services such as Amazon RDS, Azure SQL, or Google BigQuery.
- Monitor cloud resource usage proactively and optimize costs to prevent unexpected billing issues caused by inefficient queries or over-allocation of resources.
- Work with development teams to integrate database modifications into automated software delivery pipelines (CI/CD).
- Ensure data governance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA) are followed in distributed settings, managing identity access (IAM), encryption methods, and audit trails.
- Optimize performance by fine-tuning SQL queries and adjusting cloud resource parameters like IOPS, memory, and network latency in virtual environments.
