Requirements
Must:
- 5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or Cloud Engineering
- Strong expertise in Python for application development, data processing, and automation
- Proven history of building and deploying production-grade backend services and APIs (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
- Excellent SQL skills with experience in designing and optimizing schemas for relational and analytical data stores (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud SQL)
- Hands-on experience with modern data orchestration tools such as Dagster or Airflow
- Extensive knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI, Compute Engine)
- Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes, including Helm-based deployments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Crossplane (nice to have)
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices using GitHub Actions or similar tools (nice to have)
- Understanding of observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Logging) (nice to have)
- Direct involvement in production MLOps workflows (model monitoring, drift detection, automated retraining) (nice to have)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines
- Utilize modern orchestration tools to ensure reliable and observable data flows that support machine learning workloads
- Write clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested Python code for automation, infrastructure tooling, and service integration
- Develop shared libraries and connector services that link cloud-native components
- Create, develop, and deploy high-performance Python APIs (using FastAPI or Flask) to facilitate machine learning predictions and core application logic
- Own end-to-end pipelines for continuous training, deployment, versioning, and monitoring of production ML models, such as recommendation or personalization systems
- Architect and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant infrastructure using Kubernetes (GKE) within Google Cloud Platform
- Ensure reliability, performance, and cost-effective solutions across various environments
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and platform teams
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
