Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Mechatronics, or an associate degree in a relevant engineering field with equivalent experience considered
- Over 8 years of experience in a controls engineer role or similar
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent interpersonal skills
- Formal training or extensive expertise with PLCs (Allen Bradley, OMRON), Robotics, and AutoCAD Electrical
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proven track record of successful project completions
- Ability to independently manage a diverse workload that includes long-term projects and daily priorities
Responsibilities
- Develop cost estimations for electrical systems, covering purchased components and labor for design and installation
- Design electrical hardware circuits and safety control circuits for automated machinery and equipment
- Create electrical hardware diagrams and schematics
- Lead projects by conducting design review meetings with production, maintenance, quality control, and other necessary parties
- Program machine software for PLCs, robots, vision systems, HMIs, etc.
- Troubleshoot programming issues during both machine assembly and initial operation
- Research, develop, test, design, and implement both current and new technologies
- Provide ongoing technical support to our machine-building technicians
- Assist in the development of machine specifications for outsourced activities
- Prepare, update, and present professional training materials, including operation manuals and technical reports
- Act as a technical steward for emerging technologies while promoting team development
