Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Over 7 years of experience in manufacturing quality, ideally in capital equipment or heavy industrial sectors
- Proven knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems
- Prior experience managing or overseeing quality teams
- Strong skills in root cause analysis and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action)
- Proficient with measurement and inspection tools
- Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively at all organizational levels
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality team, including task assignment and performance monitoring
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to establish quality criteria for products and processes
- Spearhead defect prevention initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts across the company
- Assist in establishing the quality management system (QMS) and ISO 9001 registration processes
- Support and lead internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 registration and surveillance assessments
- Ensure quality protocols are well-documented, current, and consistently implemented
- Manage the corrective and preventive action process (CAPA), ensuring effective root cause analysis
- Investigate customer complaints and drive resolutions through root cause analysis and corrective action plans
- Track and report on the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), including trends in scrap, rework, and warranties
- Collaborate with Purchasing to oversee supplier quality and support strategic initiatives with suppliers
- Develop and maintain processes for customer acceptance and inspection, ensuring readiness for factory acceptance testing
- Travel as necessary to engage with vendors, customers, and benchmark target companies
