Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 7 years of practical experience in PLC and HMI programming, with a track record of successfully leading automation projects.
- Experience with SCADA conversions or modernization endeavors is preferred.
- Background in water/wastewater, bulk material handling, or process automation fields.
- Capability to assist in business development through technical contributions and project scope definition.
- Advanced expertise with Allen-Bradley platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix); familiarity with Siemens or other control systems is advantageous.
- Strong background in developing HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View SE/ME, Ignition, Wonderware, or similar).
- Proficient understanding of industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus.
- Familiarity with VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
- Willingness to travel 10-25% of the time, depending on projects.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background check are required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, programming, and commissioning of PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems.
- Manage entire project lifecycles, which includes gathering requirements, programming, testing, documentation, and handing over to customers.
- Collaborate with engineering, electrical, and construction teams to ensure effective system integration.
- Mentor and train junior programmers, providing technical support to project staff.
- Conduct Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) and deliver customer training sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and networking challenges, both on-site and remotely.
