Requirements
Must:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal, preferably in a legal firm or corporate legal setting.
- Proven ability to manage and organize extensive discovery documents efficiently.
- Proficient in legal document management systems and applicable software, including MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional research abilities and familiarity with legal research tools.
- Strong understanding of the litigation process, legal jargon, court regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients, attorneys, and court officials.
- Strong organizational capabilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as a collaborative team member.
- A paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited institution or equivalent is advantageous.
- A Bachelors degree in law or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all facets of litigation, including case strategy, documentation, case management, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Organize and manage extensive volumes of intricate discovery documents, both in digital and physical formats, ensuring readiness for depositions and trials.
- Review, analyze, and summarize discovery documents and deposition transcripts meticulously.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and factual inquiries to aid in drafting pleadings, briefs, and other legal documentation.
- Oversee and coordinate deadlines, organize case files, and manage case calendars effectively.
- Prepare and maintain document databases and spreadsheets to track documents, exhibits, and evidence.
- Assist in the preparation for depositions, pre-trial investigations, and trial readiness, including preparing witnesses for depositions and trials.
- Communicate and liaise with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing parties, court personnel, and various service providers to coordinate fact-finding and trial activities.
- Aid in preparation for and attendance at trials, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and other judicial appearances.
