Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an operating engineer, focusing on heating and cooling systems.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and equipment, including their operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience in financial analysis and budgeting, with the capability to enhance the financial performance of HVAC operations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in identifying and addressing HVAC system issues.
- Strong communication skills to effectively share information regarding HVAC operations and financial metrics.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, dedicated to meeting organizational objectives.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations pertaining to HVAC operations.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software for managing and analyzing HVAC operations and financial data.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and repair all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment including chillers, boilers, pumps, and cooling towers.
- Monitor and adjust mechanical and pneumatic equipment, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers, and other necessary devices to maintain comfort in the buildings.
- Conduct regular inspections of systems and equipment to ensure optimal operating conditions and identify potential issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HVAC systems, focusing on reducing energy use and costs.
- Collaborate with the finance team to create budgets and forecasts for HVAC operations and assess the financial impact of HVAC decisions.
- Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations related to HVAC operations.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports associated with HVAC operations, including energy use, costs, and equipment upkeep.
- Communicate regularly with management and other stakeholders about HVAC operations and financial performance.
