Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting with a concentration on machining and tool design.
- In-depth knowledge of machining operations, tool design, and production equipment capabilities.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software applications.
- Ability to design and execute research programs; apply expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a talent for developing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective teamwork.
- Capability to handle multiple projects efficiently while meeting deadlines.
- Outstanding analytical skills, adept at managing substantial data sets.
- Acute attention to detail and a dedication to maintaining quality standards.
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes in line with product specifications and quality benchmarks.
- Suggest and enact enhancements to production methods, processes, and controls.
- Oversee manufacturing launches for new or updated products.
- Design, develop, and test a variety of tools, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
- Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of said equipment.
- Develop and institute process control techniques and procedures within manufacturing settings.
- Continuously analyze manufacturing flow processes for improvements in quality, cost reductions, and throughput.
- Collaborate with design engineers to enhance design for manufacturability.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing activities, and process improvement teams.
