Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Data Architecture or Advanced Data Engineering on an enterprise scale
- Proven hands-on expertise in Databricks Lakehouse, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog
- Strong background with SAP ECC/S4HANA data models (ACDOCA, BKPF, BSEG, MARA, LIPS) and their integrations
- In-depth knowledge of SQL, Python, PySpark, along with cloud ETL tools like ADF, Informatica, Fivetran, and dbt
- Proficient in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), and designing semantic/canonical layers and star/snowflake schemas
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and mentorship in guiding data engineering teams while collaborating with business stakeholders
- Experience in data governance, security, and lineage frameworks
- Cloud platform expertise, preferably Azure, with AWS or GCP experience being a plus
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the design and governance of large-scale enterprise data architecture across Azure Databricks and SAP ECC/S4HANA systems
- Construct and enhance the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers within the Databricks Lakehouse (including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Delta Live Tables)
- Model essential SAP domains (including Finance, Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain) and data tables (like ACDOCA, BKPF, BSEG, MARA, and LIPS) into scalable, high-performance data models
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models, alongside semantic and canonical layers to support enterprise BI and self-service analytics
- Oversee the ingestion and transformation pipelines (both batch and streaming) utilizing tools like Fivetran, Informatica, ADF, dbt, or PySpark
- Establish and maintain data governance, lineage, security, and masking standards by leveraging Unity Catalog and adhering to compliance best practices (such as HIPAA, GDPR, and PHI/PII)
- Collaborate with business, analytics, and data science teams to ensure alignment of architecture with initiatives in AI/ML and predictive analytics
- Partner with IT leadership for optimizing cloud costs, performance tuning, and creating a robust architecture strategy across Azure/AWS/GCP
