Requirements
Must:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in building and managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Proficient knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including networking, IAM, and compute services
- Experience in designing and operating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
- Strong automation skills in a scripting language such as Python, Bash, or Go
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, DNS, load balancing, firewalls)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
- Strong adherence to version control best practices and experience with GitOps workflows
- Must be located in the SF Bay Area or willing to travel regularly to our San Francisco office
- Nice to have: HashiCorp Terraform Associate or equivalent cloud certification (AWS SAA, GCP ACE)
- Nice to have: Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet)
- Nice to have: Familiarity with service mesh and observability platforms (Istio, Datadog, Prometheus)
- Nice to have: Contributions to internal platform or developer experience initiatives
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain Terraform modules for the deployment of customer cloud resources across AWS and GCP
- Create reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns and module libraries that adhere to organizational standards and security guidelines
- Establish CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure modifications which include plan, validate, and apply workflows (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Atlantis)
- Oversee infrastructure state management, drift detection, and automated remediation strategies in customer environments
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to integrate policy-as-code using tools like OPA, Sentinel, or Checkov
- Automate environment provisioning for development, staging, and production with clean GitOps workflows and limited manual input
- Integrate secrets management (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager) and identity controls into the Infrastructure as Code lifecycle
- Produce and maintain documentation, runbooks, and architecture decision records (ADRs) for all Infrastructure as Code modules and pipeline assets
