Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in product engineering, particularly in flex assemblies
- Demonstrated proficiency in Mechanical Design, Connector Design, Flex PCB Design, and Systems Design
- In-depth knowledge of Mil-STD standards relevant to aerospace and defense product development
- Strong capabilities in 3D modeling using CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex design and performance challenges
- Proven project management skills, with the capability to handle multiple projects concurrently and adhere to deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork proficiencies, fostering collaboration within cross-functional teams
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control standards specific to the aerospace and defense sectors
- Eagerness to learn and stay informed about the latest industry trends and innovations
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of flex assemblies tailored for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring adherence to Mil-STD standards and customer specifications
- Carry out detailed mechanical design including 3D modeling, analysis, and verification of design specifications
- Innovate and create connectors and flex PCBs, guaranteeing their performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate flex assemblies into larger systems and troubleshoot any related issues
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to manufacturing, testing, and post-production support
- Conduct regular design reviews and offer expert technical advice to junior engineers and team members
- Remain updated on the latest advancements in flex assemblies, leveraging that knowledge to fuel continuous improvement in our products and processes
- Work with suppliers and external partners ensuring effective implementation of flex assemblies into our products
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals
