Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Cost Accounting within a Manufacturing setting
- Strong background in costing systems with excellent analytical capabilities
- Proficient in collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams on cost standard development and evaluation
- Ability to generate accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Experience in construction accounting, variance analysis, financial accounting, account reconciliation, financial reporting, internal controls, and inventory management
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel, and proficiency in Outlook and Word
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus
- Experience in working with IT personnel to manage finance and accounting software
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
- Professional attitude with a proactive approach to work
- High integrity and reliability with a strong urgency towards achieving results
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly gross margin analysis based on product, customer type, and value stream
- Support the month-end closing process, including preparing necessary journal entries and analyzing inventory evaluations
- Collaborate with the IT department on system issues, maintenance, and improvements in various accounting-related functions
- Evaluate cost accounting data and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories
- Maintain documentation for internal controls and conduct testing of these controls
- Conduct detailed account analyses and reconcile sales, costs, inventory, and liabilities
- Review and interpret inventory and margin reports, performing research and analytical studies on costs and profitability
- Assist with departmental reporting requirements, including audit and tax schedules
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of inventory and gross margin schedules to management
- Participate in special projects as needed
