Entry-Level EHS Engineer

- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations - Create, uphold, and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs for plant staff - Perform routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments, taking corrective actions as necessary - Oversee lockout/tagout procedures, incident investigations, and near-miss reporting - Evaluate workplace injury patterns and work with leadership to implement preventive strategies - Act as the main contact for Workers Compensation, collaborating with carriers and efficiently managing claims - Assist in return-to-work programs and light-duty arrangements in partnership with HR and site leadership - Manage third-party safety vendors, audits, and specialized safety services, including contract oversight - Foster a safety-centric culture by weaving initiatives into everyday operations and encouraging employee involvement - Travel to other locations approximately 30% of the time
