Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of engineering experience within the construction sector, particularly focusing on HVAC systems
- Demonstrated track record in an engineering leadership capacity
- In-depth understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical engineering principles
- Strong management and supervisory capabilities
- Valid professional engineer (PE) license
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient in using Revit software
- Adept with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal regulations
- Ability to draft and interpret specifications, schematics, layouts, and visual aids
Responsibilities
- Oversee, manage, and coordinate all stages of in-house projects from initial planning through to design and specifications
- Lead and guide a team of engineers, setting clear objectives, managing project workload, and assigning engineers to suitable projects
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of all mechanical and HVAC projects
- Develop and enforce policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering team that adhere to safety regulations and industry standards
- Review and authorize all mechanical and HVAC designs and modifications
- Collaborate with other departments, contractors, and clients to ensure project satisfaction
- Assess staffing and training requirements
- Recruit, train, and supervise engineering staff
- Initiate research and development projects to uncover opportunities for new ventures and process enhancements
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with other managers, suppliers, and contractors
- Create and present various engineering-related materials, both within the organization and externally
