Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. - 5-10+ years of experience in electrical system design for mission critical projects, healthcare facilities, or data centers. - Advanced skills in SKM Power Tools (DAPPER, CAPTOR, Arc Flash). - Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584 standards. - Familiarity with UPS systems, generator paralleling, and STS/ATS equipment as well as redundant distribution architectures. - PE or EIT certification preferred but not required. - Proven experience designing power systems in complex technical environments. - Proficient in design software such as Revit and AutoCAD. - Strong understanding of various A/E design disciplines and project coordination. - Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with architects, clients, and engineering teams. - Ability to present design recommendations and options to both internal and external stakeholders. - Detail-oriented with robust time management and budgeting capabilities to meet project deadlines. - History of productive teamwork on multiple design and construction projects. - Field experience showcasing knowledge of construction methods and systems best practices. - Willingness to travel occasionally to support project needs.

Responsibilities

- Create electrical power systems designs for mission critical settings, including data centers and healthcare facilities. - Develop and manage detailed electrical system models for Medium Voltage and Low Voltage distribution using SKM, covering UPS systems, generators, and dual-fed distribution. - Execute short circuit analyses to confirm equipment withstand ratings and to identify any overstressed apparatus. - Conduct protective device coordination studies. - Perform arc flash hazard evaluations and create labels in accordance with NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and specific safety protocols of clients. - Assess system functionality during normal, emergency, and maintenance operations. - Compile comprehensive engineering reports that provide clear recommendations for safety, labeling, and equipment mitigation. - Review one-line diagrams, equipment submissions, and as-built documents to ensure correct system models. - Partner with design specialists, commissioning groups, and facility managers to collect data and confirm study assumptions, keeping SKM models and reports current. - Offer technical support throughout design, commissioning, and troubleshooting processes of power distribution systems in active or planned data center settings. - Engage in commissioning and system upgrade activities as required.
