Requirements
Must:
- Proficiency in PCB design for high-speed networking interfaces and embedded CPU subsystems
- Familiarity with Cadence Allegro for schematic capture and PCB layout
- Experience designing embedded CPU subsystems
- Knowledge of high-speed communication bus design techniques (USB, PCIe, XFI)
- Understanding of DDR2/DDR3 memory design along with I2C and SPI buses
- Experience with debugging tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, as well as EMI and ESD compliance testing
- Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field
- At least 10 years of relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Design and develop hardware systems, including circuit boards and high-speed network interfaces using Cadence Allegro tools
- Create analog circuits for rechargeable batteries and low voltage power supplies
- Develop hardware design specifications and documentation for new products
- Collaborate with software engineers during product board bring-up
- Work with PCB layout experts to ensure signal integrity requirements are met
- Engage with manufacturing for the fabrication and testing of PCBs
- Support existing products by addressing component issues and implementing design changes
- Specify components and manage schematic symbols for new designs
- Interface with our PLM system for tracking components and bill of materials
- Collaborate with vendors to select and document detailed specifications for components
- Coordinate across teams including software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to bring products to market
- Implement thermal management solutions and conduct testing for optimal cost-effectiveness
- Work on extending battery life through power reduction strategies
- Ensure EMI/ESD compliance through pre-scans and testing, using appropriate design techniques
