Requirements
Must:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with outstanding academic achievements
- Licensed to practice in the DC Bar or ability to obtain admission
- 2 to 4 years of experience in cybersecurity law, privacy law, government investigations, or closely related fields
- Previous experience in a law firm, government agency, or technology-focused legal role is preferred
- Knowledge of cybersecurity regulations and frameworks including: Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), CMMC 2.0, Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act (CIRCIA), SEC Cybersecurity Disclosure Rule, HIPAA Security Rule, GLBA Safeguards Rule, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, SOC 2, and PCI DSS
- Preferred technical background in computer science, information technology, engineering, or cybersecurity
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and communication skills
- Capable of working independently in dynamic, high-pressure situations
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to clients on matters involving cybersecurity, data privacy, and technology-related regulations
- Assist clients with incident response and crisis management during cyber events and data breaches
- Support both governmental and internal investigations concerning technology-related issues
- Advise clients on compliance with federal and state cybersecurity laws and regulations
- Analyze intricate technical challenges concerning information security and data governance
- Collaborate effectively with attorneys across our national practice group on high-stakes cases
