Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred: Medical Billing Certificate or similar experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in medical billing
- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience with SAPC DMC-ODS billing system
- Proficient in medical billing and coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Understanding of claims processing and the revenue cycle
- Expertise with EHR/EMR systems
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math proficiency
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Familiarity with DMC procedure codes
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate billing for all provided services
- Reconcile billing records for completeness and precision, including authorizations and diagnoses
- Analyze daily billing reports and address any discrepancies
- Conduct monthly compliance audits on billable claims
- Submit billing claims and follow up on any outstanding or denied submissions
- Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to resolve audit issues and claim challenges
- Work with external agencies to address reimbursement matters
- Partner with the Clinical Department to verify service documentation
- Maintain tracking records for new client admissions and discharges
- Monitor authorization requests and ensure timely processing
- Review session logs for group counseling and education for billing accuracy
- Utilize electronic health record systems for billing tasks
- Stay updated on relevant guidelines from Title 22, Title 9, and the DMC Provider Manual
