Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3+ years of professional experience in JavaScript and TypeScript
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js (version 18 or newer preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in integrating and consuming RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Zapier, or Make
- Strong comprehension of asynchronous programming and contemporary JavaScript patterns
- Proficient in using Git for version control and npm/yarn for package management
- Comfortable with writing and maintaining automated tests and debugging API interactions
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, keen attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously
Responsibilities
- Design and create custom n8n connectors (nodes) using JavaScript and TypeScript, ensuring compliance with n8ns node architecture
- Develop and sustain RESTful API integrations, incorporating authentication, pagination, rate limiting, retries, and error handling
- Produce clean, modular, and maintainable code while focusing on performance and reliability
- Write unit and integration tests utilizing modern testing frameworks (such as Playwright)
- Optimize API interactions through JSON manipulation, schema validation, batch operations, caching, and exponential backoff strategies
- Generate clear and comprehensive documentation for connector usage, covering parameters, examples, and sample workflows
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and UX teams to ensure an intuitive connector design, including conditional fields and clear parameter labels
- Adhere to best practices for secure credential management, input validation, and dependency audits
- Optionally implement webhook support and observability features like logging and metrics
- Comply with internal information security, confidentiality, and data privacy guidelines at all times
