Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related Science/Engineering/Mathematics field.
- Over 15 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelors degree.
- OR 13+ years of relevant professional experience with a Masters degree.
- Demonstrated expertise in radiation effects mitigation and system-level survivability.
- Extensive knowledge of natural space radiation environments and nuclear radiation effects (TID, SEE, ELDRS).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Active Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is preferred at the time of hire; must be able to secure clearance within a reasonable timeframe.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal architect for radiation survivability, ensuring that space systems achieve performance standards in challenging radiation settings.
- Drive the incorporation of cutting-edge capabilities and radiation-hardened solutions into product roadmaps, preparing for future challenges.
- Leverage deep expertise to supervise modeling and analysis of natural space radiation environments, offering high-level guidance on mitigation strategies at both component and system levels.
- Establish and validate new engineering radiation effects processes to enhance performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness across the organization.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, acting as a key resource to expand the organization’s technical expertise.
- Lead the intricate process of integrating commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technology into high-reliability, high-availability space systems.
