Embedded Software Engineering Lead

- Serve as the design authority, leading the architectural design and implementation of high-assurance embedded software products - Champion and enforce efficient development processes while creating best practices for source control, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) - Conduct comprehensive code and design reviews to ensure the delivery of secure and high-quality software that meets stringent defense requirements - Act as a hands-on technical contributor or subject matter expert on key projects to help resolve technical challenges - Collaborate seamlessly with Systems, Electrical, and other Engineering Managers to strategically allocate assignments to maximize productivity - Manage financial responsibilities as a Cost Account Manager (CAM), planning, budgeting, and overseeing earned value for assigned work packages - Lead the creation of technical documentation and accurate Basis of Estimate (BOE) cost models for new engineering proposals - Coach and mentor a talented software engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning - Oversee the full recruitment process, including defining needs, conducting interviews, and managing hiring and onboarding - Perform formal evaluations, manage compensation planning, and address personnel issues to maintain a high-performing team - Manage manpower and resource allocation within a matrix organizational structure, balancing functional and program needs
