Requirements
Must:
I require candidates to possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, or substantial professional experience. If your degree is in an unrelated discipline, you should have at least three years of relevant work experience or a Microsoft Office certification. For specific courses such as CIS 090, 095, 103, 104, 110, 111, 125, 135, and 201, I expect either a Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field coupled with two years of relevant work experience or the same degree with related professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certification) or scholarly contributions in the field. For courses like CIS 143 and 147, a Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field along with three years of IT experience is required. In graphical subjects like CIS 243 and 247, I seek candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related area, or significant professional experience combined with relevant certifications. Further qualifications for specific courses within Graphic/3D Design are outlined for clarity.
Responsibilities
As an instructor, I expect you to teach CIS 101: Introduction to Information Technology, focusing on core computer concepts and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Your role entails evaluating and grading students’ coursework, preparing and presenting educational materials both in-person and online, and guiding classroom discussions to enhance learning. Additionally, you will be responsible for administering and grading assessments while participating in necessary reporting processes related to grades and student involvement. It’s crucial to assist students in accessing college resources effectively.
Description
This position as an adjunct instructor is part-time, with teaching assignments varying by semester based on student enrollment. There may be times when no courses are available to teach. Applications must be submitted online, and it’s necessary to provide comprehensive details of your education and experience—abbreviations such as "See Resume" are not acceptable. Unofficial transcripts can be submitted initially, but official copies will be mandatory upon selection. Note that Jackson College does not sponsor Visa applications, and applicants must already be eligible to work in the U.S. Accommodations for those with disabilities can be arranged during the application and interview process by notifying Human Resources three working days in advance. Candidates are reminded that adjunct instructors are generally employed by EDUStaff, LLC, and must undergo a criminal background check as part of the hiring process.
