Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience through technical training and certifications.
- Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in computer systems.
- Extensive knowledge of computer science principles and practices.
- Experience with managing Operating Systems and support applications in both centralized and distributed environments.
- Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux; SUSE Linux is a plus.
- Proven experience in scripting and working with Ansible.
- Ability to manage and configure hybrid environments combining Windows and Red Hat systems.
- Capability to secure, patch, and compile Red Hat systems.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
- Valid state-issued drivers license required.
Responsibilities
- Assess system specifications and manage the installation of enterprise computer systems.
- Ensure hardware/software compatibility and maintain both workstations and server systems focusing on the operating system and network.
- Provide daily operational support for the computer operating system, including security, access, configuration, backups, and restores.
- Define network prerequisites, monitor LAN performance, and troubleshoot networking hardware.
- Organize and secure directory structures; assist and train staff in using document management systems and related procedures.
- Design and maintain functional and visually appealing web pages.
- Specify hardware needs and track equipment configurations and identification logs.
- Act as the point of contact for problem reporting and monitor support contracts.
- Recommend future upgrades for hardware/software and process enhancements.
- Analyze system logs to identify potential issues and manage storage solutions, including NAS and SAN systems.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
