Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of ten years of professional experience.
- At least seven years of programming experience with C, C++, and C#. Knowledge of Ada, FORTRAN, and Assembly Language is advantageous.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and C# programming.
- Experience in designing Windows and Linux applications, including graphical user interfaces.
- Familiarity with Web Applications and Services toolsets, such as Vue, React, Java, JavaScript, XML, and ASP.
- Background in database development using SQL Server, Oracle, or Access.
- Experience with Open Source software and systems, including Jenkins.
- Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and micro-services architecture, including Docker, Rancher, and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with air-gapped networks.
- Familiarity with Hyper-V and/or VMWare.
- Understanding of formal software development standards and processes, including the Software Capability Maturity Model.
- Skills in deploying and troubleshooting network applications and systems.
- Experience in assisting or designing new network architectures, along with hardware/software requests.
- Proficiency in system administration for Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Good understanding of network switches and routers.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with system users.
- Competence in analyzing data, solving problems, and making decisions autonomously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce various technical and user-oriented reports, manuals, and communications.
- Capacity to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to fulfill varying requirements.
- Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diverse engineering assignments in planning and managing software engineering initiatives.
- Analyze, evaluate, and integrate solutions for complex technical challenges based on broad objectives set by management and customers.
- Formulate engineering project requirements to align with customer specifications and deadlines.
- Develop detailed implementation plans to successfully meet project demands.
- Collaborate closely with project management, hardware engineering, communications engineering, configuration management, quality assurance, and operations support for effective integration of software engineering.
- Design, implement, test, and deploy software projects to meet client needs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to fellow engineering team members.
- Review and ensure modifications to system software are compatible with existing hardware and software.
- Collect and document detailed product requirements; prepare technical data packages supporting software development or modifications.
- Attend and facilitate meetings as necessary.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as required.
