Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience through technical training or recognized certification programs
- A minimum of 9 years of experience in areas related to computer systems
- Broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems
- Experience in maintaining Operating Systems and support applications in both centralized and distributed server environments
- Valid state-issued drivers license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
- CompTIA Security+ certification to be obtained within the first six months of hire or a current certification preferred
- Preferred certifications include Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) with concentrations in Routing, Switching, and Design or higher
- Proven experience with networking hardware, software, and protocols (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, MPLS, BGP, OSPF)
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Evaluate system specifications, install enterprise computer systems, and configure them according to established standards
- Ensure hardware/software compatibility and maintain workstations and server systems, focusing on the Operating System and network management
- Provide daily operational support related to the computer Operating System, including security, access, configuration, backups, and restores
- Specify network requirements, monitor LAN performance, and troubleshoot networking hardware to ensure proper functionality
- Organize and secure directory structures, assisting and training staff in using document management systems and related procedures
- Maintain and design functional, visually appealing web pages
- Specify hardware needs and track equipment configurations and identification logs
- Act as the point of contact for problem reporting and monitor support contracts
- Recommend future hardware/software implementations and process improvements, and plan for system upgrades
- Analyze system logs and identify potential computer system issues
- Manage and administer storage solutions including NAS and SAN systems
- Mentor and develop the skills of junior network engineers, creating training plans as necessary
- Perform other duties as required
