Requirements
Must:
- An associates degree in engineering or a relevant technical field, or equivalent formal educational/vocational/military training.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the related specialty area.
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering concepts and principles, along with knowledge of related engineering disciplines.
- Familiarity with testing methods and practices necessary for conducting routine to more complex engineering tasks, including minor modifications to standard test procedures or equipment work instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Engage in the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of networking and telecommunications equipment and systems.
- Serve as the lead network engineer during field assignments.
- Demonstrate expertise across various types of networking hardware and associated technologies.
- Exhibit a solid grasp of WAN/LAN systems for transmitting voice, data, and video through both digital and fiber optic infrastructures.
- Create and execute solutions that align with commercial network standards.
- Work with layers 2/2 and TDM networking equipment.
- Manage commercial carrier services and oversee system interconnects.
- Handle, diagnose, and repair physical and logical network infrastructure.
- Perform other related duties as required.
