Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Programming or equivalent technical training from an accredited institution, completion of a recognized certification program, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of nine years of relevant experience
- Proven proficiency in required programming languages and a solid understanding of computer systems including networks, servers, and personal computers
- Strong planning and organizational abilities with the capacity to work under deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with colleagues and receiving direction from senior Programmers or Supervisors
- Capability to qualify for and sustain a government security clearance
- A valid, state-issued drivers license
Responsibilities
- Transform and manage data based on project specifications and problem statements to create or adjust computer programs
- Prepare flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate program sequences and logical operations
- Convert project specifications into detailed coding instructions that computers can interpret, utilizing programming techniques and languages
- Design and develop basic to moderately complex computer programs
- Employ software tools for flowchart creation and code generation throughout system development phases
- Operate computer systems to validate, troubleshoot, and test programs
- Monitor program performance post-implementation
- Analyze, review, and modify existing programs to enhance efficiency or meet new requirements
- Create documentation detailing program development, logic, and coding adjustments
- Develop user manuals outlining installation and operational procedures
- Provide technical support to program users as needed
- Offer guidance to junior department employees and occasionally lead workgroups
- Perform additional related tasks as required
