Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or a Masters in Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a doctoral degree in engineering.
- Four years of related engineering experience or a minimum of 2 years for Masters degree holders.
- Mastery of engineering concepts, principles, and practices to serve as a technical authority in specific programs.
- Proficient in applying latest engineering developments to solve specialized problems.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with computer systems and engineering tools, along with strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and create solutions for operational hardware and software issues.
- Valid state-issued drivers license.
- Capacity to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to top secret with special access.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Understand and apply basic Python programming skills.
- Operate common tactical data link radios/terminals/gateways/modems.
- Familiarize with data link protocols and waveforms such as Link 16 and Variable Message Format (VMF).
- Develop and analyze data link messages including J-series and K-series messages.
- Read and comprehend military data link standards and protocols (e.g., MIL-STD 6016, MIL-STD 6017).
- Utilize tactical data link software tools (e.g., BOSS, ARMS, LEGS, TOES, IDM Workbench, MANDRIL).
- Order and analyze aircraft data for specific data links.
- Execute software programs or manually process data to complete data transfers and documentation.
- Individually or collaboratively plan Data Link test missions.
- Engage with various platforms to conduct Data Link Interoperability testing.
- Operate Data Link Equipment during missions to gather data and send stimuli to aircraft.
Description
At JT4, LLC, we provide engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, known as J-Tech II. Our mission is to develop and maintain realistic and integrated test environments that prepare our nations war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for current and future challenges. The salary for this position ranges between $110,000 and $185,000 annually, determined by experience and education.
