Requirements
Must:
- 12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with a strong emphasis on virtualization technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization platforms.
- Familiarity with virtualization management tools, backup and recovery systems, and monitoring solutions.
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, and security considerations in virtual environments.
- Proven capability to design, deploy, and maintain large-scale enterprise virtualization infrastructures.
- Practical experience in performance optimization, capacity planning, and high availability measures.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas to various stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as VMware VCP/VCDX, Microsoft MCSE, or similar are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Direct the design, rollout, and enhancement of virtualization solutions throughout the organization.
- Develop and sustain a virtualized infrastructure using technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, or their equivalents.
- Offer expert advice on capacity planning, performance optimization, and resource distribution for virtual setups.
- Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure smooth integration of virtualization initiatives.
- Establish and uphold best practices, standards, and policies related to virtualization and associated technologies.
- Oversee system performance, diagnose issues, and take proactive measures to ensure operations run smoothly.
- Manage virtualization projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new installations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support and leadership to the team.
- Keep precise documentation for architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Stay informed about new technologies and trends in virtualization, cloud integration, and relevant infrastructure.
