Requirements
Must:
- 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity or SOC operations
- Extensive hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, Sentinel, or comparable
- In-depth knowledge of network security, firewalls, IPS/IDS, endpoint security, and vulnerability management
- Familiarity with common attack methods, malware behavior, and threat analysis frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain
- Experience with incident response strategies and digital forensics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to work independently under pressure and handle multiple incident priorities
- Exceptional communication and documentation abilities
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCIH, GCIA, Security+, or similar are preferred
- Experience in enterprise SOC environments, managed security services, or government settings is a plus
- Knowledge of scripting for automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash) would be beneficial
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and other security tools
- Conduct real-time analysis of security threats, incidents, and anomalies
- Investigate security incidents to assess severity, impact, and necessary response actions
- Perform threat hunting to uncover potential vulnerabilities or unusual patterns
- Manage the incident response process from detection through resolution
- Prepare incident reports, documentation, and recommendations for preventive measures
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the enforcement of security controls and policies
- Maintain and enhance SOC monitoring processes and playbooks
- Analyze logs, review network traffic, and conduct malware analysis as required
- Assist with audits, compliance activities, and risk assessments
- Engage with third-party security service providers and vendors
- Stay current with trends in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, and emerging attack methodologies
Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to become part of our team in Dover, Delaware, on a contract basis. In this role, youll be integral to monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security threats across our organization. Youll closely interact with our internal IT teams, security engineers, and leadership to proactively identify risks and uphold a secure environment.
