Requirements
Must:
- 12+ years of experience as a Mainframe Developer
- Strong practical knowledge of COBOL programming
- Proficient in JCL and execution of mainframe batch jobs
- Solid background with DB2 and SQL
- Familiarity with CICS and online transaction processes
- Understanding of VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe debugging methods
- Experience with tools such as ChangeMan, Abend-AID, and File-AID
- In-depth knowledge of batch and online processing systems
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience in an Agile environment is a plus
- Exposure to application modernization or migration projects is advantageous
- Knowledge of REXX or Easytrieve scripting is preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS
- Convert business requirements into comprehensive technical specifications
- Conduct coding, unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization of applications
- Manage batch processing, file handling, SQL queries, and improve system performance
- Diagnose and address production issues, analyze job failures, and implement swift resolutions
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, and various technical teams
- Produce and maintain technical documentation while ensuring adherence to SDLC standards
- Engage in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior team members as needed
