Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in COBOL development on Mainframe
- Proficient in JCL development and maintenance
- Demonstrated expertise in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and Control-M
- Solid grasp of the complete software development lifecycle, including design, development, integration testing, and deployment
- Strong troubleshooting, testing, and debugging abilities to achieve desired results
- Excellent analytical skills to support non-database tasks, rectify data errors, and create data analysis/summary reports
- Experience in creating thorough documentation for both program-level and user-level
- Outstanding communication skills for obtaining user approval on modifications before production deployment
- Ability to adhere to organizational guidelines and procedures for source code management and migration
- Dedication to optimizing software for enhanced efficiency and reduced operational time
- Familiarity with Java programming
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Knowledge of Postgres DB
- Experience with Kofax
Responsibilities
- Convert analysis and design documents along with specifications into well-organized programs
- Maintain and enhance custom software by adjusting and testing user input screens, batch processes, reports, queries, and menus
- Perform detailed reviews of existing code, data, and business procedures to assist non-database functions
- Carry out testing of program modifications, update test files, execute tests, review outcomes, and validate the accuracy of program alterations based on specified requirements
- Detect and rectify data inaccuracies through application logic and create data analysis/summary reports using IBM and Microsoft tools
- Support the transition from COBOL applications to web-based platforms
- Compile both program and user documentation to aid the software development lifecycle
- Improve software to lessen operational time or enhance efficiency, adhering to organizational protocols for code management and deployment
