Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Political Science, or a related field
- 0–15+ years of experience in technical writing, editing, or policy/legislative communications (opportunities for various levels)
- Proven ability to write and edit for senior or Congressional audiences
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with legislative and legal processes (preferred)
- Experience supporting ODNI, IC, or DoD communications (preferred)
- Professional writing/editing certifications (e.g., Technical Writing, Plain Language, or Editing credentials) (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and structure documents, reports, and briefing materials for senior officials and Congressional audiences
- Simplify complex intelligence and legal information into clear, concise language for policymakers
- Ensure documents are consistent, accurate, and adhere to ODNI and IC standards
- Collaborate with Legislative/Legal Research Leads, Legislative Liaisons, and Law Clerk/Attorneys to deliver high-quality work
- Provide editorial assistance for legal and legislative documents, ensuring clarity and compliance
- Stay informed of ODNI priorities and IC mission objectives to accurately reflect intent in writing
- Utilize strong writing and communication skills to connect technical details with strategic messages
