Requirements
Must:
- Professional-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)
- Over 5 years of experience in software or system engineering
- Strong understanding of IoT architectures (devices, gateways, protocols, cloud ingestion)
- Knowledge of AI / Machine Learning concepts (data pipelines, analytics, model usage)
- Excellent technical communication abilities to simplify complex concepts for varied audiences
- Experience with distributed or global engineering teams
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late evenings, to support US–Japan collaboration
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical liaison between engineering teams in Japan and the United States
- Translate and align technical requirements, specifications, and design discussions between Japanese and English
- Assist in system design reviews, architecture discussions, and implementation planning
- Identify and resolve gaps, risks, and miscommunications in cross-team interactions
- Coordinate development progress, priorities, and issue tracking across teams
- Facilitate the integration of IoT devices, connectivity layers, data pipelines, and AI/ML components
- Participate in early-morning or late-night meetings as necessary to connect across time zones
- Provide hands-on support when required (design, review, debugging, documentation)

We are currently seeking a Bridge System Engineer to aid in the development of NEQTO.ai, our AI-powered IoT operations platform. This role is pivotal in connecting our engineering teams across Japan and the United States, ensuring cohesion in architecture and delivery.
