Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- I have a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in failure analysis and system-level testing in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- I possess strong proficiency in the Linux Terminal and Bash scripting and can train others on Linux fundamentals.
- I have intermediate programming skills in both Bash and Python and a solid understanding of statistical analysis and its application in data-driven troubleshooting and decision-making.
- I have prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with high-level assembly and hardware integration, which is highly preferred.
- I am open to my education and experience being evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Responsibilities
- I am responsible for conducting hands-on failure analysis of compute systems at both the server and rack levels to pinpoint the root cause, document findings, and drive corrective actions in a complex manufacturing environment.
- I will interpret diagnostic logs, LED indicators, and system health outputs to perform targeted debugging and verify functionality at different test levels (L6, L10, L12).
- I will configure and validate BIOS settings, troubleshoot system failures during the Power-On Self-Test (POST), resolve boot sequence errors, and ensure firmware compatibility across various configurations.
- I will leverage Linux command-line tools to isolate hardware issues and utilize statistical analysis on test data to identify failure trends and support quality improvement initiatives.
- I am tasked with creating and maintaining dynamic dashboards to visualize test metrics and track performance, thereby facilitating data-driven decision-making.
Description
I would like to highlight that this position involves automation scripting, statistical analysis, customer engagement, and mentoring junior team members to enhance system performance for AI/ML, GPGPU, and hardware accelerator-based server, networking, and storage platforms. I would also like potential applicants to know that I require on-site work at our production facility in Florence, KY, located near the CVG International Airport. I offer relocation assistance for candidates living beyond a 50-mile radius. We have multiple engineering openings across four shifts, with 12-hour working hours, and I expect occasional overtime depending on business needs. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, proficiency in various scripting languages, a strong understanding of networking concepts, and expertise in hardware/software integration. Excellent communication skills are essential as I need someone who can clearly convey technical findings to diverse stakeholders.
