Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- 7-12 years of progressive technical experience in Information Assurance and Cyber Security
- At least one active security certification (CISSP, ISSEP, ISSAP, CEH, CNDA, GIAC, CRISC)
- Understanding of DoD and/or Federal Information Assurance processes
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 controls
- Knowledge of DHS IACS Xacta compliance tools
- Familiarity with FIPS standards and NIST Special Publications
- Strong project management and leadership abilities
- Capability to analyze and interpret data for technical problem-solving
- Experience interfacing with various customers and stakeholders
- Proficient in assessing system vulnerabilities and compliance
- Comprehensive understanding of Information Security Administration
- Experience with security monitoring and auditing solutions
- Knowledge of secure architecture design for various operating systems
- Experience with conducting cybersecurity audits and technical vulnerability scanning
- Working knowledge of encryption standards and cyber security tools
Responsibilities
- Provide full-time support as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
- Manage the integration of security design principles into major Federal IT applications
- Categorize systems according to FIPS 199 guidelines and register with relevant programs
- Select and document security controls and develop monitoring strategies
- Implement security measures in alignment with DHS Cybersecurity architectures
- Create and approve Security Assessment Plans and Reports
- Authorize system packages and prepare necessary documentation for risk assessment
- Monitor security controls and assess changes to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with different teams and contribute to process development
- Analyze vulnerabilities and provide secure configuration guidance
- Conduct audits to verify security compliance
Description
We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team, primarily supporting federal IT applications while working mostly in a remote capacity. Candidates should be located within the National Capital Region, with some in-office support required in Washington, DC.
